Makeup: Ruby Kisses

Hi Everyone,

Weddings are a big deal, especially where I'm from. There are weddings almost every single weekend in Lagos. I will usually wear this simple makeup look or a slight variation which goes nicely with whatever color my outfit is.

Products I used

Face:

Foundation: MAC Select SPF15 in NC50
Concealer: MAC Prolongwear in NC50
Brows: Rimmel Professional Brow Pencil in Dark Brown
Blush: Sleek Sunrise
Contour: Sleek Face Contour kit in Medium
Setting Powder: MAC Blot Powder in Dark

Eyes:

Lid: MAC Amber Lights e/s
Outer Corner and Crease: Urban Decay Naked Creep e/s
Inner tear duct:  Urban Decay Naked Sin e/s
Transition: Mary Kay Cinnabar e/s
Eyeliner: Rimmel Exaggerate eyeliner in Black
Mascara: Maybelline Falsies in Blackest Black
Waterline: Model's Own kohl pencil in Black

Lips:

Lip Pencil: MUA Red Lip Pencil
Lipstick: MAC Ruby Woo (Favourite red lipstick!)

I think this look will work well on any skin tone. It's easy and well suited to the glam and pizzaz of weddings. You can tone the lips down if you do not like to pack on your lipstick like I do :D

Peace and Love,

Y.

Sleek makeup can be found at their stores nationwide and Casabella in the Palms/ Ikeja Mall/ Adeniran Ogunsanya mall stock some MAC makeup.

    1. Hi Nenie :-)

A contour kit is a slightly dark powder that you apply in the hollow of your cheeks and your jaw, to give your face the illusion of being slimmer or more "chiseled". You can also apply it to the sides of your nose to make it appear slimmer :-)

  3. The makeup looks like it was done by a professional, nice one. what is the setting powder used for tho? and what's the difference btw the lid, eyeliner and waterline?

    1. Thank you for your kind words :-)

      - A setting powder is used to help your makeup last longer. It keeps your foundation and the rest of your makeup in place by reducing oil and shine. I sometimes use my regular MAC Studio Fix powder as a setting powder and It gives me similar results.
      - When i say "lid" i refer to the eyeshadow color i placed only on my eyelid. I placed the other colors above my lid and in the outer corner of my eyelid
      - For eyeliner, i used black liquid liner on the lash-line of my top lashes extending the tip upwards and in my waterline (inside the lash-line of my bottom lashes), i used a black kohl pencil.

      Hope this helps :-)

  5. Looks really nice! :)
I love make-up and all that too, but for me when I do Ruby woo (my fave too) I try to tone down my eyes abit, instead of wearing full-on eye shadow maybe eye-liner+tear duct :)
    My opinion tho...xoxo

    1. Hi, Thank you for your comment. I use makeup brushes to apply all my products. They are either Sigma or Elf and I will be doing a post soon with more insight on the brushes I use and where you can get them :)
