NOTW: Matte About Poker

Hello Everyone,

Did you have a good weekend? I sure hope so.

This is my 40th post on the blog, yay! That's worth noting right? No? Ok, let's carry on :-)

My nail-spiration for this week is the game of poker. I find it so intriguing even though I can not for the life of me make head or tail of it.  I was simply inspired by the vibrant colours of the cards, chips and dice, so cool!

I used two LA Girl Matte polishes to create this look. I started off with two coats of Matte Red as my base colour. I then let it dry completely before creating vertical polka dots in two lines at the side of each nail. For my accent finger, I created horizontal dots instead.  I used the Matte Black polish for the polka dots.  See what Matte Black looks like in a different nail design here.

As usual, since it is a matte finish polish, I went without a topcoat. I must say that I really like these LA girl polishes because the brush makes application easy and you get decent opacity with one coat. They also dry super fast, which is very convenient. I definitely recommend them if you are looking to buy a budget friendly matte  nail polish. I haven't yet tried any of their regular polishes though.

What are you guys wearing on your nails this week? Will you be trying out this nail design?

Peace and Love,

Y.
