I feel like it's been forever since I did a Nail of the Week post. I have been lacking nail-spiration lately but I am ushering in the lovely month of December with some festive nails!! Can you tell how excited, I am about the holidays? Check out my new header, yo!
Half moon manicures have been around for the longest and I finally joined the train. I have been feeling a burst of Christmassy happiness every time my eyes catch my nails :-)
I used Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri polish in Rapid Red, an unbranded green glitter polish, and Essie's All in One Base. I also used ring reinforcement stickers to create the "half-moon" effect. You can get the stickers at any stationery store.
I started off with Essie All in One as a base coat. Then I applied two coats of my base colour (Rapid Red) and let it dry overnight just to be safe. If the polish doesn't dry properly it will come right off when you are removing the sticker. I then cut the reinforcement stickers into half and positioned them a little way up from my cuticle. You can place them even higher if you want bigger half-moons. Next I applied the green glitter polish on the gap between my cuticle and the sticker, making sure to cover over the sticker a little for uniformity. I took off the stickers carefully with a pair of tweezers and finished off with Essie All in One as a topcoat.
Peace and Love,
P.S I hope to be doing a lot of Christmassy posts over the next few weeks so keep your eyes peeled :)
