Lipstick Lovin' | Mac Riri Woo

TGIF Peeps!

If for some strange reason you haven't heard, Rihanna recently collaborated with Mac to launch a collection- Riri Hearts Mac. The first item from the collection-Riri Woo lipstick was launched a little over a month ago. I kid you not when I tell you that it was sold out online in the US in about 2 hours! There are some hardcore Mac/Rihanna stans outchea! I was so lucky to have a friend pick it up for me.

Riri Woo is a bright red lipstick with blue undertones. It is a retro matte red that is very old hollywood a la Marilyn Monroe. Wear time is amazing as is with all matte finish Mac lipsticks. The lipstick is really a stunner, I automatically feel cooler when I have it on :)

Indeed it is very similar to the infamous Ruby Woo but here's how I think it differs

  • It is slightly deeper in colour
  • It is not as drying, they got the matte finish right this time
  • It is more pigmented simply because it is easier to apply the lipstick as it is not too drying
  • It has Riri's signature engraved on it! Super cool!
L-Riri Woo, R- Ruby Woo struggling to show up because it's so damn dry!

So if you ask me if Riri Woo is worth buying if you already have Ruby Woo, I'm screaming Yes! Think of it is Ruby Woo 2.0, back and better, Rihanna did a great job with this one.
If you weren't able to pick it up though, never mind, Mac is re-releasing it online this June along with some other items in the collection. There's a blusher and lustre drops highlighter which I don't really care for but the other two lipsticks are a must-have! Look how fierce they are <3

L-R: Riri Woo, Riri Boy, Heaux

Did you manage to pick up Riri Woo? What are your thoughts? If not, are you looking forward to it's re-release?

Peace and Love,

Y.

  2. I wore my RiRi Woo all day last weekend and I'm not sure how I feel about it to be honest. To me it is quite dry, not as dry as Ruby Woo, but quite close..

I don't know, I personally dislike Matte finish lippies. But I will rock this again for two reasons:

    1.) I LOVE RiRi!!
2.) It is a GORGEOUS shade! and something of a 'collector's item' *ducks*

I'm also looking forward to 'Heaux'

  3. Hmmm, haven't had a chance to try it out to be honest but your review makes it sound so enticing especially with Ez concurring.

  4. @ EZ my sentiment exactly, not sure if there is much difference between Ruby Woo and RiRi Woo except than the RiRi Woo is endorsed by Rihana and its not a retro Matte like Ruby woo, but i got it cos i am a makeup hoarder *shameless*
@ Barbs it is exciting , one of MAC fastest and Best selling Lippie.
