Recipe | Spicy Seafood Pasta

It's a work-free day for us over here in Nigeria as we celebrate Democracy day. I whipped up this super easy pasta meal for lunch and it was oh-so-yummy. Here's the recipe, something different aye? :)

What You Need

  • 1 pack of any pasta of your choice (I used Rigatoni)
  • 1 jar of tomato pasta sauce (I used Dolmio's sauce)
  • Sea food mix- prawns, calamari, squid, octopus
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 1 scotch bonnet peppers
  • 1 green pepper
  • Feta cheese (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cubes Maggi cubes
  • 1tsp salt
  • 1tsp black pepper
  • 1tsp garlic powder
  • 1tsp ginger powder
  • 1tsp ground/cayenne pepper

Directions

  • Chop up onions and peppers and fry on low heat for 2 minutes in a wok
  • Add your tomatoes and fry for another 2 minutes

  • Add in your sea food mix and allow to simmer for 5 minutes
  • Season the mix with all your spices as listed above

  • Pour in the jar of tomato pasta sauce and allow to cook for 5 mins
  • At this point, start boiling the pasta in another pot

  • When the pasta is cooked, drain and set aside

  •  Toss pasta with sauce and let simmer for another 1 min

  • Serve pasta piping hot and throw on some feta cheese (or any cheese of your choice)!

Let me know if you try this recipe and if you would like to see more posts like this :)

Blush Love | Sleek Makeup Blush in Sahara

It's no news that I am a lover of all things Sleek, particularly their blushes. I am on a mission to collect every single blush that has ever been produced by the company :)

The latest addition to my Sleek army is the Sahara blush. I don't know why I had never taken interest in this blush until recently,It is simply gorgeous! A unique matte shade that is something between orange, teracotta and bronze. This shade is beautiful as a blusher but could also work as a contour because of it's dark undertones.  As usual the pigmentation is a beast, a few swipes will have your cheeks popping! The best part of this blush is that it is pretty universal, it goes with a whole lot of makeup looks.

Pictures and Swatches

Wearing Sahara blush and Mac Honeylove lipstick
I've been wearing it literally everyday, I had better buy a couple more to keep in my stash :). I got it from Konga.com here at a giveaway price of 935naira, it is usually sold at around 1500naira in shops.

Enjoy your weekend folks!

New In! | Acrylic Makeup Storage Box

TGIF Peeps!

If you remember my pretty Cath Kidston makeup storage that I had in my dressing table post here, well it was coming to end of life. The drawers were literally splitting at the sides under the weight of all that makeup considering it's made of cardboard.

So I had been wondering where on earth I was going to get good makeup storage around these ends when my friend Ez over at BeautyinLagos let me know that she was selling acrylic makeup storage boxes! Talk about a miracle! I had been eyeing the ones from Muji for the longest time but it was kind of impossible to ship them with me to Nigeria when I moved back because they are breakable and all that jazz. But look, the ones I got from Ez are amazing! Bigger and Better than the Muji ones if you ask me :)

It's got a top bit that has numerous compartments for storing lipsticks, foundations, makeup brushes, pencils and lots more. It has really helped to make room on my dressing table by holding stuff that would otherwise have been laying about.

Lipsticks, Foundations, Concealers, Highlighter, Fix +, Brushes...

Then you have three decent sized drawers and one large one to store all your makeup in. I love that they are clear so you can easily see what is where without having to turn everything over. It's also perfect for finding Mac lipsticks in your stash which can be likened to finding a needle in a haystack..thanks Mac *coughs*

Lipsticks..

Eye products..

Blushers and Bronzers
Eyeshadow palettes, Powders, more Concealers and other stuff
This acrylic storage box has a special place in my heart because it's effective for keeping all my makeup together and making them easily accessible.  As an added advantage it beautifies my dressing table :).

Get if whilst it's still on offer for 15,000 naira here!

Peace and Love,

Y.
