Makeup Review- Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation

You guys all know I'm a "rusher" right? I'm always late therefore always rushing to everything in life, including work. I found that dealing with liquid foundations in the car (which is usually where I get to do my makeup on most days) can be hellish so I have been looking for something that is less messy.

I got Black Up's Two Way Cake (review here) which I really like but because it's a powder, you only get light coverage. I decided to try a cream foundation for something that's easy to work with that provides medium coverage at least.

Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation

Would you believe that I had never heard about this brand until it got recommended to me by an MUA in Sephora? I went in seeking opinions about the best stick/cream foundation and the mutual consensus was Hourglass. After I got matched to the shade "Golden Almond" I decided to give it a try....

I really wanted to like this foundation but it's not for me at all. First of all, I have yellow undertones so I thought Golden Almond will be a great match but it isn't. It ends up looking orangey on me..This is my grouse with most foundations because more often than not they are red based. I have found love with NARS (review here) though and I'm never going back.

This foundation is also really difficult to blend. Like, it requires some serious arm-work to get it to move, no jokes,  After I struggled with it a few times, I decided to try spraying my face with Fix Plus before blending and that worked really well. Stress morning don't permit such a grand show when it comes to makeup.

Blended...see how orange it is compared to my skin?

Side by Side with NARS All Day Luminous so you can see the difference in undertones

The Hourglass Seamless Finish Foundation retails for $46 which is not cheap so it doesn't even win on price.

Issa NO from me on this one....

  1. I need to try the Nars foundation. I have heard great and not so great things about it.

  2. 😂 @ issa no for me.
I have heard so many different opinions on this foundation. I can't wait to try it out for myself.
